What can your high school student do to get ready to Head Toward College?

Students who engage with us during their freshman year through our Scholars Program will be guided through activities and exercises which offer them tools and strategies to develop and grow into who they want to be.


Students who begin their work with us in 9th grade receive guidance and support to:

  • Explore academic interests to help guide their future course selections
  • Discover aptitudes and interests to assist in their involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Develop tools to expand their, self-advocacy, study skills, time management, and other leadership skills
  • Devise a plan for summer opportunities
  • Engage in projects to build on their curiosity
  • Participate in compassion projects

Students who engage with us during their sophomore year are supported as they continue to explore their interests and develop the skills they need to acquire to enjoy a productive, fulfilling high school experience.


Students who begin their work with us in 10th grade receive guidance and support to:

  • Explore academic interests to help guide their future course selections
  • Create short and long term plans to encourage self-exploration
  • Discover aptitudes and interests to assist in their involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Develop tools to expand their, self-advocacy, study skills, time management, and other leadership skills
  • Devise a plan for summer opportunities
  • Participate in activities to find and apply to internships or other summer activities
  • Engage in projects to build on their curiosity
  • Participate in compassion projects
  • Design a comprehensive, plan for future standardized tests (which tests to take and when to take them, and how to prepare)

Students who join us during their junior year jump right into the process by working with our expert admissions professionals to build their "U" profile. Through exercises, activities, and writing samples our staff works with students to create opportunities for growth while helping them to search, select and begin to apply to college.


Students who begin their work with us in 11th grade receive guidance and support on:

  • Explore academic interests to help guide their future course selections
  • Discover aptitudes and interests to assist in their involvement in extracurricular activities
  • Develop tools to expand their, self-advocacy, study skills, time management, and other leadership skills
  • Devise a plan for summer opportunities
  • Engage in projects to build on their curiosity
  • Participate in compassion projects and design a comprehensive, plan for future standardized tests (which tests to take and when to take them, and how to prepare)
  • Develop a unique college search, selection and admissions plan based on their "U" profile
  • Create a list of schools that match their interests, aptitudes, needs, and wants
  • Receive advice on recommendations, additional academic and extracurricular opportunities, scholarship, and financial aid
  • Establish a timeline for all application materials
  • Begin the writing process

Students who engage with us during their senior year receive support to prepare them for the admissions process and for what lies ahead for them. If they have not already done so, they will work with our admissions staff to build their "U" profile to help us guide our work with them. Our offerings help students engage in the process in a way that is manageable and (almost) stress-free.


Students who begin their work with us in 12th grade receive guidance and support to:

  • Develop a personalized plan to enter or complete their search, selection, and application process
  • Explore a list of schools that match their interests, aptitudes, needs, and wants
  • Create a plan for any additional standardized testing
  • Establish a timeline for their unique application journey
  • Receive advice on recommendations, additional academic and extracurricular opportunities, scholarship, and financial aid
  • Engage in the writing process in a proven, methodical, timely, and organized manner
  • Plan for life in college
