Head Toward College
Our signature program is designed to identify and showcase each student’s individual strengths, aptitude, and interests to help guide them to their unique path.
Freshmen + Sophomores
Building Core Skill Sets
Freshman and Sophomore Scholars begin their journey by participating in a variety of interest and skills assessments. Our programming then builds upon and cultivates the students’ individual strengths and natural curiosity, helping them become more self-aware, self-reliant, and self-confident. Activities and projects (or assignments) are designed to give students important academic and life skills and tools. The programming focuses on enabling students to fulfill their current potential, not on cultivating so-called ideal college applicants.
Heading Toward College
Our programs for Junior Scholars guide students to discover who they are, who they want to be, and how to create the college list that is best for them. Juniors engage in conversations about the college admissions timeline and requirements, writing their personal essay and supplemental questions, and taking advantage of opportunities to meet with college admissions officers.
The Final Stretch
This culminating year allows our seniors to enter the application season with a strong foundation and sense of self to take on their applications. Senior Scholars fine-tune their college journey by taking part in additional skills and interest assessments. Seniors have access to additional programming on essay writing, application assistance, interview support, and access to our scholarship database

The HTC counselors are amazing, even in a group setting, Eydie made me feel as I was the only one in the room. Even though the work was sometimes hard, I actually looked forward to our meetings! - Zoe, Student, Newton, MA
